Timothy Landon, Chairman

Tim_landon Timothy Landon is Chairman of BlockShopper.

Tim is CEO of Landon Company, which focuses on early stage angel investing and consulting for private equity, venture capital and large traditional and online media companies. He also is a member of the board of directors of American Public Education, Inc. (NASDAQ: APEI), a leading provider of online post-secondary education focused primarily on serving the military and public service communities.

Tim worked for Tribune Company from 1986 to 2008 in a variety positions and had leadership roles in starting CareerBuilder.com, Classified Ventures, the holding company of Apartments.com and Cars.com, and other online businesses. He also served on the boards of directors of CareerBuilder.com, Classified Ventures, ShopLocal.com and Topix.com. Most recently, he was President of Tribune Interactive from 2004 – 2008.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.

Tim and Elizabeth, his wife, have three children and live in Evanston, Illinois. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Ounce of Prevention Fund, a Chicago-based non-profit organization focused on early childhood development, socialization and learning in impoverished communities; major funders include the Harris, McCormick, Gates and Buffett foundations.

Brian Timpone, President

Brian_timpone Brian Timpone, President of BlockShopper, founded the company in May 2006.

Formerly a television reporter, Brian is the founding publisher of courthouse legal journals in Southern Illinois, South Texas and Charleston, WV, as well as LegalNewsline.com, a national news service covering state supreme courts and attorneys general. He also serves on the board of directors at Manifest Digital , an interactive web design and development agency based in Chicago.

In 2003, he founded Greater Illinois Newsgroup, four community newspaper chain in Central Illinois. It was purchased by the Champaign News-Gazette in 2005. In 2001, Brian founded 1871 Media, a content management software provider for newspapers and associations.

Brian is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He lives in Lincoln Park with his wife, Patricia, and three children.

Edward Weinhaus, Chief Operating Officer

Eddie_weinhaus Eddie Weinhaus, Chief Operating Officer of BlockShopper, is a founder of the company.

Most recently, Eddie founded and operated a real estate development company in Houston, Texas, raising $15 million in bank financing.

Formerly a derivatives trader with Swiss Bank/O'Connor, Eddie also worked as a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group and as a derivative structurer at the American Electric Power Company (AEP).

Eddie is a graduate of The London School of Economics and holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago. He lives with his wife, Natalie, and four children in St. Louis.
