Gregory Nicotero and Shari Nicotero sold a five-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 5035 Bilmoor Ave. in Los Angeles for $1.005 million to Ruben Zemlyak on February 15.
The 3,659-square-foot house was built in 1960.
Mr. Nicotero is an award-winning make-up artist as well as a special effects technician and actor. He is the co-founder of K.N.B. EFX Group, Inc., a make-up, special effects and animation company he started with Howard Berger and Robert Kurtzman in 1988.
He's worked in over 100 films and won an Emmy in 2001 for his work on the "Dune" TV mini-series and an Academy Award in 2006 for achievement in makeup for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
He's worked on blockbuster films such as Transformers, The Mist, Sin City, Ray and Boogie Nights.
The Pittsburgh native has also had bit parts acting in a number of cult classic films: George Romero's Day of the Dead and Robert Rodriguez' From Dusk Till Dawn. His hand can be seen playing Ash J. Williams' (Bruce Campbell) severed, possessed hand in several scenes in Evil Dead II.
Mrs. Nicotero has worked as an independent entertainment professional.
She was a second assistant director for Alexander Payne's films About Schmidt and Election, as well as Mallrats and Independence Day.
