Dr. Gary Solnit and Julie Solnit bought a six-bedroom, seven-bath home at 3873 Winford Dr. in Los Angeles' Tarzana neighborhood from Darryl Juan Quarles and Karen Annette Quarles for $3.2 million on July 10, 2007.

The 6,399-square-foot house was built in 2000.

Dr. Solnit is a prosthodontist at The Beverly Hills Center for Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry. He trains and gives lectures to other doctors about restorative implant techniques both in training courses and student externships.

He is an adjunct faculty member at USC and has also served as the director of occlusion at USC.

He received his D.D.S. from USC and completed his two-year residency at the University of Iowa. He also has a master's degree in dental research with implants.

Mr. Quarles is a writer, producer and director. He was the screenwriter for films The Underground Bounty Hunter, Big Momma's House, Big Momma's House 2 and Black Knight. He produced the films Under One Roof, The Underground Bounty Hunter, which he also directed, and Black Knight.

Prior to writing for films, he was a writer for TV shows and worked with Will Smith on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." He also wrote on 26 episodes of "Family Ties."

He attended Yale Law School and the West Los Angeles School of Law.
