William and Jilda Shernoff bought a one-bedroom, one-bath condo at 20638 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu from Joseph Schiro for $1.05 million on Oct. 31.

The condo development was built in 1961 and houses 11 units.

Mr. Shernoff is a managing partner of the Claremont, Palm Desert, Ontario and Beverly Hills branches of Shernoff Bidart Darras Echeverria, LLP. He specializes in bad faith insurance law. He also co-founded the National Insurance Consumer Organization (NICO) and established a consumer law program at the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. Shernoff has been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" every year since its first edition in 1983 and was named a Super Lawyer of 2004 by Law & Politics Magazine and Los Angeles Magazine. He has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall St. Journal and Time magazine and has appeared on "60 Minutes."

He earned his B.B.A from the University of Miami and his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin.

Mrs. Shernoff is the creative visionary of Jilda Beverly Hills Cosmetics. She is a former fitness model turned personal image consultant. Shernoff's business is an ultra chic boutique at the very heart of Beverly Hills offering a wide array of beauty products and services.

There have been 126 home sales in Malibu in 2008, with a median sales price of $2,472,500.
