Comedian Chelsea Handler drops $3.7M in Venice

Comedian Chelsea Handler and Edward W. Harbert bought a three-bedroom, four-bath condo at 13700 Marina Pointe Dr. in Venice from Colony Marina Investors, Llc, for $3.7 million on Nov. 10.

Unit #1901 is one of 450 in the Azzurra.

Handler, 33, is a stand-up comedian and host of the hit E! talk show "Chelsea Lately." The late-night show debuted in July 2007 and has been picked up by the network for a run until Dec. 2009, cementing Handler's reputation as one of the most promising female comedians in entertainment today.

She has also authored two best-selling books, Are You There Vodka? It's Me Chelsea and My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands. Her previous television stints include a role on the Lifetime Network's "Girls Behaving Badly" and "The Bernie Mac Show."

She is originally from New Jersey.

Harbert is the president and CEO of the Comcast Entertainment Group, a position he's held since 2006. Prior to this role he served as the CEO of E! Networks, and he also spent four years as the president of NBC Studios. His career also includes a lengthy executive stint with ABC Entertainment and as a producer for DreamWorks Television and 20th Century-Fox Television.

There were 315 condo sales in Venice in 2008, with a median sales price of $1.09 million.
