Bret Saberhagen asking $3.25M in Calabasas

Medium a465e73a37c4fd149b55d81d9dafd851 Former Major League Baseball pitcher Bret Saberhagen has listed for sale his five-bedroom, 5.5-bath at 2425 Stokes Canyon Road in Unincorporated Calibasas for the asking price of $3.25 million.

Saberhagen paid $825,000 for the home in Oct. 2003.

Jim Pascucci of Rodeo Realty is the listing agent for the property. Saberhagen, 45, was a three-time All-Star during his 16-year career, and was the 1985 World Series MVP with the Kansas City Royals. He spent eight seasons with the Royals and won the American League Cy Young Award with the club in 1985 and 1989, and posted a career-high 23 wins with a 2.16 ERA in 1989. He finished 20-6 with the team in 1985 and threw two complete games in the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals, including a shutout in the decisive Game 7.

Saberhagen also pitched for the New York Mets, Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox before he retired in 2001. He was inducted into the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame in 2005.

He's also worked on the Calabasas High School varsity baseball coaching staff and is currently part of the production staff for the nationally-syndicated radio show featuring comedian Dennis Miller.

According to BlockShopper.com,, there have been 18 home sales in Unincorporated Calibasas during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $1.8 million.
