Dr. Edward Akkaway and Melissa Richardson Akkaway sold a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 472 23rd St. in Santa Monica to Andrea K. Leshay and Rand Leshay for $2.25 million on Oct. 14.

Akkaway and Richardson paid $2.75 million for the property in Aug. 2005. The 2,170-square-foot house was built in 1923 in the North of Montana neighborhood.

Dr. Akkaway is an anesthesiologist at Multispecialty Surgical Center in Beverly Hills and serves as the director of anesthesia at Garth Fisher, M.D. Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

He received his M.D. from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 400 sales in Santa Monica during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $850,000.
