Actor Conrad Bain and his wife, Monica, have listed for sale their three bedroom, three-bath at 1230 Chickory Lane in Brentwood for the asking price of $3.175 million.

The 3,805-square-foot home was built in 1962.

Eiko Nobel of Coldwell Banker is the listing agent for the property.

Bain, 77, has an acting career dating back to the late 1950s, but is likely best known for his recurring role as Phillip Drummond on the 1980s hit sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes." Bain portrayed the wealthy, adoptive white father of two African American young sons, wise-cracking Arnold (portrayed famously by Gary Coleman) and Willis, who hailed from the poor streets of Harlem. The show ran on NBC from 1978-1986, spanning 189 episodes.

Bain also enjoyed success on the 1970s Bea Arthur sitcom hit "Maude," where he spent six seasons as Dr. Arthur Harmon, Maude's conservative neighbor. He also made appearances on hits like "The Love Boat," "The Facts of Life" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."

Bain is originally from Alberta, Canada. The Bains have been married since 1945.
