Stephanie J. Fossan and Kai Ryssdal bought a four-bedroom, two-bath home at 4823 Commonwealth Ave. in La Canada Flintridge from Eileen N. King and John F. King for $1,243,500 on Feb. 18.

The Kings acquired the property for $1.105 million in June 2004.

The 2,210-square-foot house was built in 1911.

Mr. Ryssdal serves as the host of Marketplace, a radio show that provides news on business and economics. He previously served as the host for Marketplace Morning Report. He served as a reporter and substitute host for The California Report, a news and information program distributed to public radio stations throughout California by KQED-FM in San Francisco.

He graduated from Emory University.

There were 174 sales in La Canada Flintridge in 2008, with a median price of $1,100,000.
