UCLA prof dishes condo in Santa Monica

Dr. Miriam Jane Laugesen and Andrew Sati sold the two-bedroom, four-bath condo Unit #1 at 1138 20th St. in Santa Monica to Suzette Tabor and Mark C. Gordon for $740,000 on March 13.

Laugesen and Sati paid $420,000 for the property in June 2000.

The condo development at 1138 20th St. is in the Wilshire Montana neighborhood. It was constructed in 1979.

Dr. Laugesen is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Services at the UCLA School of Public Health. She earned her Ph.D. in political science from the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Ms. Tabor works as an I.P. paralegal at Steptoe & Johnson, LLP, in Los Angeles.

Prior to that, she worked as a paralegal at Katten Muchin Rosenman, LLP. She attended UCLA.

Sales at 1138 20th St. dropped 100 percent from 2006-2007. The median sales price dropped 100 percent during that same time period.

There were 304 condo sales in Santa Monica in 2008, with a median sales price of $641,500.
