Dr. Louis Glazer and Melanie Morris Glazer sold a three-bedroom, three-bath condo at 1018 Second St. in Santa Monica to David Ephraim Green for $1.54 million on March 17.

The Glazers paid $500,000 for the 2,056-square-foot Unit #6 in July 1996.

Dr. Glazer is a director at Patient Safety Technologies, Inc., a Temecula-based health care and medical products company. He's also held positions such as chairman of the board, CEO, vice chairman, and chief health and science officer since joining the company in 2004.

He is currently a member of the advisory board of Zealous Investment Management and is an independent biotechnology and medical consultant.

He previously spent 25 years as chief anesthesiologist and medical director for the Vitreo-Retinal Clinic in Memphis, Tenn. He also taught obstetrics anesthesia at the University of Tennessee and was an attending physician at Baptist East Hospital, Methodist Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital in Tennessee.

Dr. Glazer has a B.S. in pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma and an M.D. from the University of Bologna, School of Medicine in Italy.

Ms. Glazer is a director of the holding company Zealous Holdings, Inc., which is headquartered in Tustin.

She most recently served as director and chairman of Digicorp, Inc. Prior to that, she co-founded Zealous Asset Management, LLC, where she served as a financial and banking analyst. She also founded Morris Glazer Realty. She also worked as a real estate broker at Dobson & Johnson, Inc., as VP at Investors Savings & Loan Association in Nashville, Tenn., and as an officer at United American Bank.

Ms. Glazer earned a B.A. in history from Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

There were 283 sales in Santa Monica in 2008, with a median price of $659,500.
