Affleck, Garner sell to equity pro for $6.25M in Brentwood

Medium b7ada78900ab5876cb25f238bd8e729f Actor Ben Affleck and his wife, actress Jennifer Garner, sold their four bedroom, four-bath at 300 N. Tigertail Rd. in Brentwood for $6.25 million to Ian Reid Weingarten and his wife, Jodi, on April 16.

Garner paid $5.5 million for the home in June 2004. The 3,843-square-foot home was built in 1929.

Affleck, 37, is an Oscar-winning actor and one of the leading men in Hollywood. Best known for his turns in the hit films Chasing Amy, Armageddon, Dogma, Daredevil and Hollywoodland, he shared an Academy Award with longtime friend Matt Damon for penning the screenplay to the 1998 fan favorite Good Will Hunting. Affleck and Damon starred in the Gus Van Sant hit, which also featured Robin Williams and Minnie Driver.

Other Affleck films include the cult classic Dazed and Confused and the recent legal drama State of Play. He also ventured into directing with Gone Baby Gone, the 2007 crime thriller that starred his brother, Casey Affleck, along with Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris.

He's also slated to appear in this year's Mike Judge comedy Extract.

Garner, 37, has enjoyed a career on the big screen and in television, but is best known for her five-year run on the ABC smash series "Alias." She's also appeared in the hit films Elektra, 13 Going On 30, The Kingdom and Juno.

She also starred in the short-lived "Party of Five" spinoff "Time Of Your Life," and appeared in the romantic comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past with Matthew McConaughey earlier this year. She'll also appear in this year's Ricky Gervais comedy The Invention of Lying, which also stars Tina Fey, Christopher Guest, Jason Bateman and Rob Lowe.

The couple married in June 2005.

Mr. Weingarten is a managing director for the Gores Group LLC, a Los Angeles investment strategy and private equity firm. He joined the company in 2002 after previously serving with Apollo Management, UBS Warburg and Goldman Sachs.

He earned his bachelor's in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

There were 280 home sales in Brentwood in 2008, with a median sales price of $1.12 million.
