Television personality Nicole Richie and her boyfriend, musician Joel Madden, bought a four-bedroom, four-bath at 8305 Lookout Mountain Ave. in Beverly Crest for $1.912 million from Mike Croel and his wife, Cassaundra, on May 12.

The Croels paid $875,00 for the property in April 2003.

The Real Estalker first reported the sale on June 5.

Richie, 28, is best known for her five seasons on the reality hit "The Simple Life," which documented her and longtime friend and fellow celebrity Paris Hilton working menial jobs such as farmhands, maids and office interns. The show debuted in 2003 on Fox and was a hit with the network for three seasons before the E! network bought the rights for seasons four and five. The show was canceled in 2007.

Richie has also appeared on episodes of television shows such as "American Dreams," "8 Simple Rules" and "Chuck." She has also delved into her own line jewelry and into music. She is the daughter of famous pop singer Lionel Richie, who bought a home in Century City in July 2007 for $1.2 million from former "NYPD Blue" star Dennis Franz.

Madden, 30, is the lead singer for the pop/punk group Good Charlotte. The group has released four albums since breaking through in 2000, and reached the top of the billboard charts with their self-titled debut album. Strong follow-ups include "The Young and Hopeless," "The Chronicles of Life and Death" and "Good Morning Revival."

Their fifth album, "Cardiology," is due out this year.

Croel, 40, is a former NFL linebacker who played for four teams during his career, including a stint with the Denver Broncos when he won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1991. He also played for the Los Angeles Xtreme of the short-lived XFL.

He was drafted in 1991 out of the University of Nebraska.

There were 140 home sales in Beverly Crest in 2008, with a median sales price of $1.4 million.
