Actress Shannon Doherty has listed for sale her five-bedroom, 4.5-bath at 27860 Winding Way in Malibu for the asking price of $4 million.

Doherty paid $2.56 million for the 3,410-square-foot home in April 2004. It's located in Central Malibu.

Robert Radcliffe of Sotheby's International Realty is the listing agent for the sale.

Doherty, 38, is perhaps best known for her lengthy stint on the groundbreaking Fox series "Beverly Hills, 90210." She spent four seasons on the show as Brenda Walsh, the teenager relocated from her modest Minnesota upbringing to Southern California who teams with twin brother Brandon (Jason Priestley) to deal with a wealth of teenage issues including sex, peer pressure and teen pregnancy. She can also currently be seen revisiting the role in the show's reincarnation, "90210," which started in 2008.

Doherty also enjoyed success for four years as Prue Halliwell on the hit fantasy series "Charmed," where she played one of three present-day witches battling evil demons and other supernatural foes. She left the show in 2001.

She also starred as adolescent daughter Kris Witherspoon in the 1980s family series "Our House," starring Wilford Brimley, and appeared in 18 episodes of "Little House on the Prairie" in the early 1980s. Her film career includes a turn in the 1995 Kevin Smith comedy Mallrats and in the 1989 black comedy hit Heathers, with Christian Slater and Winona Ryder.

There were 126 home sales in Malibu in 2008, with a median sales price of $2.365 million.
