Lucky Strike bowling lanes president seeks $1.748M

Medium dae0e8e568afad9dd23cfd39f824c80b Dolf A. Berle and Julia S. Berle have listed for sale a five-bedroom, three-bath home at 577 Woodland Road in Pasadena for $1.748 million.

The Berles paid $845,000 for the property in Aug. 2000. The 3,363-square-foot house was built in 1977 in South Pasadena.

John Poer of Dilbeck GMAC Real Estate is the listing agent for the home.

Mr. Berle is the president of Lucky Strike Entertainment LLC, a national chain of bowling lanes and lounges with locations in 11 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. He's held the position since 2006, after previously serving as the chief operating officer of House of Blues Entertainment Inc.

He's also worked in senior executive roles for both Diedrich Coffee and Pepsico Restaurants. He earned both his M.B.A. in general management and a bachelor's in history and literature from Harvard University, and he boasts a master's in African history from the University of Zimbabwe.

Mr. and Mrs. Berle are both members of the National Advisory Council for the Make-a-wish Foundation. Mrs. Berle is a nationally certified interpreter for the deaf with a bachelor's in speech language pathology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.

There were 1,143 home sales in Pasadena in 2008, with a median price of $475,000.
