Nanny Fran Drescher purchased this property in Sept. 1997 for $1.225 million. Widely known for playing Fran Fine on the CBS television series “The Nanny,” (1993-99) Drescher’s trademark is her voice, which is said to be a combination of a high nasal pitch and a stereotypical "New Yawk" accent. She appeared in a number of films, including Jack (1996), The Beautician and the Beast (1997), and Picking Up the Pieces (2000). A women’s health advocate, she wrote the book Cancer Schmancer and is founder of the Cancer Schmancer Movement. She was recently appointed as a U.S. diplomat and was awarded the City of Hope Spirit of Life Award for her advocacy efforts.
