Doug Ellin and wife, Melissa Ellin bought a five-bedroom, seven bath home at 611 North Elm Dr. in Beverly Hills for $5.93 million on August 12.

Mr. Ellin is the creator of the popular HBO television series "Entourage." He also serves as executive producer and head writer for the show that stars Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier.

Earlier in his Hollywood career, he wrote the screenplays for the films Kissing a Fool and Phat Beach.

He was also a staff writer the TV show "Life with Bonnie."

He was as a stand-up comedian early in his career and worked in the mailroom of New Line Cinema.

He is originally from New York City and attended the American Film Institute and Tulane University

Mrs. Ellin has worked a sales associate at Swat-Fame Inc., a children's clothing manufacturer.

She graduated from the University of Arizona.
