Thomas J. Bresnahan and his wife, Elizabeth M. French, bought a three-bedroom, three-bath home at 2081 Redcliff St. in Silver Lake from Bernard Garey and George Magit for $1.68 million on Dec. 31.

The 3,218-square-foot house was built in 1935.

Bresnahan is an actor with a career that dates back to the mid-1980s. He's appeared on television programs such as "Private Practice," "Crossing Jordan," JAG," Baywatch" and "Silk Stalkings." He's also appeared in the films The Kingdom, Absolute Force and Ski School.

He studied at the Stella Adler Drama School alongside Benicio Del Toro and Mark Ruffalo.

There were 213 sales in Silver Lake in 2008, with a median price of $659,000.
