UC-Irvine volleyball coach deals in Brentwood

Medium dafc3ffc9cf34f9a561edb8270e57700 John Andrew Speraw, Daniel Speraw and Catherine Speraw sold a three-bedroom, two-bath condo at 838 S. Barrington Ave. in Brentwood to David Baronoff and Jennifer Wolbransky for $685,000 on Oct. 15.

The 1,522-square-foot Unit #403 is part of the 838 S. Barrington Ave. development, which was built in 1974 and houses 17 units.

John Speraw is the head men's volleyball coach at the University of California-Irvine. He's been with the Anteaters program for seven seasons, and led the team to NCAA national titles in 2009 and in 2007. He also served as an assistant coach for the U.S. men's indoor volleyball team, which won the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

He played college volleyball at UCLA and won two national titles with the Bruins, then joined the coaching staff on a full-time basis there in 1998. He earned his bachelor's in microbiology and molecular genetics from the school in 1995.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 117 condo sales in Brentwood during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $570,500.
