Former Major Leaguer seeking $2.4M for Calabasas 6BD

Medium 4b61c30efb9dc92ed62465c582d01c2b Former Major League Baseball star Eric Davis and his wife, Sherrie, have listed for sale their six-bedroom, seven-bath at 5334 Collingwood Circle in Calabasas for $2.399 million.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis paid $1.65 million for the home in July 2001.

David Yobs of Prudential California Realty is the listing agent for the home.

Mr. Davis, 46, spent 15 years in Major League Baseball with six teams, but made his reputation as a dynamic outfielder with the Cincinnati Reds from 1984-1991. Once considered one of the best young talents in baseball, Davis averaged 30 home runs and 40 stolen bases from 1986 to 1990 with the Reds, and was a catalyst for the team's run to the World Series crown in 1990.

Davis battled injuries and a 1997 diagnosis of colon cancer, but went on to play for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants before he retired from the game after the 2001 season. He retired with a .269 career batting average and 282 career home runs.

There were 24 sales in Calabasas in 2008, with a median sales price of $2.025 million.
