Actor Ving Rhames seeking $2.1M for Brentwood abode

Medium a13604877d68c877b3e44ae6b9afb5ab Actor Ving Rhames and his wife, Deborah, have listed for sale their five-bedroom, six-bath at 370 S. Canyon View Dr. in Brentwood for $2.099 million.

Mr. and Mrs. Rhames paid $2.5 million for the home in July 2005.

Simon Salloom of Coldwell Banker is the agent for the listing.

Mr. Rhames, 49, is a Golden Globe-winning actor whose career dates back to the mid 1980s. Arguably best known for his turn as gangster Marsellus Wallace in Quentin Tarantino's Oscar-winning 1994 hit Pulp Fiction, Rhames has also appeared in blockbusters such as Striptease, Con Air, Out of Sight, Entrapment and all three installments of the Mission:Impossible trilogy. He is slated to star as boxing great Sonny Liston in the 2009 biopic Phantom Punch.

He won a Golden Globe in 1998 for his portrayal as boisterous boxing promoter Don King in the television miniseries "Don King: Only in America." His other television appearances include stints on "ER," "Kojak" and "The District."

Originally from New York City, he attended the New York High School of Performing Arts before studying at the Juilliard School of Drama.

There were 280 home sales in Brentwood in 2008, with a median sales price of $1.232 million.
